Details
The modified 58mm portafilter is designed to fit most E61 series machines, providing a bottomless design that can create a larger contact surface for the extraction of coffee. Crafted with high-quality materials, the grouphead is made of stainless steel, while the handle features a durable Zebra wood construction.
It is important to note that the wood material requires regular maintenance, as it should be wiped with wood wax oil to preserve its condition. After use, the handle should be dried in a timely manner, as prolonged exposure to high temperatures can reduce the overall service life.
Included with the portafilter is a stainless steel filter basket with a capacity of 18g, ensuring a consistent and precise coffee dose. The entire portafilter assembly weighs approximately 605g, significantly heavier than standard portafilters. This substantial weight, combined with the professional-grade handle, requires a firm grip during operation.
The counterweight design of the bottomless grouphead is meticulously balanced, reducing the top-heavy feel and providing a comfortable grip for the user. This feature, along with the heavy-duty construction, contributes to a professional-level extraction experience.
The bottomless design of the portafilter allows users to observe the entire extraction process, enabling them to identify and address any issues that may arise, such as channeling or spurting. This level of transparency can be invaluable in refining the brewing technique and achieving a consistently exceptional cup of coffee.
In summary, this 58mm bottomless portafilter is a high-quality accessory that enhances the coffee extraction process. Its combination of durable materials, thoughtful design, and professional-grade features make it a valuable addition to any coffee enthusiast's toolkit.
